Tianguis Orgánico
When you visit San Miguel de Allende you must visit the Organic Farmer’s Market (Tianguis Orgánico) which takes place every Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The market is divided into two parts, the food stands and the produce and prepared foods market. We always arrive early to eat and then do our shopping for the week.
Traditional Food Vendors
The vendors come from the communities surrounding San Miguel de Allende and they serve many traditional local dishes that you won’t find in restaurants such as garbanzo and cactus in a guajillo chile broth and stewed rabbit.
We have a great recipe for rajas con queso.
Our recipe for guajillo salsa.
The tortillas and gorditas are prepared with locally grown varieties of corn.
Happiness is a big stack of fresh handmade corn tortillas.
Handmade cracked blue corn gorditas that were prepared and a wood fired comal. The have an intense earthy, smokey corn flavor with a hearty texture.
Organic Produce and Prepared Foods
You can get some incredible organic produce and products from Rancho Toyan, Bodega Orgánica, Vía Organica and many others at the Saturday market.
How To Get There
The entrance to the Organic Market is at #32 Ancha de San Antonio on the corner of El Cardo street on the Rosewood property.

How does the price vary from non organic produce and are there meats available also?
Douglas Cullen says
On average, I would say the prices are about 25% more. There are meats and eggs available too. Cheers!
